Nordic Journalist Centre (NJC) invites you to a seminar and study trip to Russia.

How do we relate to this great neighbour in a time of sanction policy and cold war rhetoric?

How do we – as Nordic and Baltic journalists – get behind the stereotypes and closer to the reality that the citizens of Russian cities experience?

We will follow the presidential election from St Petersburg, an election that will determine Russia’s path into the next decade, and examine issues like:

• Is Russia a democratic country?
• Are there any alternatives to Putin?
• How does Russia prepare for this year’s big event, FIFA World Cup Russia?

A tiny bit of Russia, far from its motherland and surrounded by the EU. This is where we will meet the locals as well as Russian journalists and invite to future common networking.

Course leader: Arne Grove, former head of the Information Office of the Nordic Council of Ministers in Kaliningrad, and Uffe Gardel, journalist and special adviser of international affairs.
